Why are Middle Eastern People so Hairy?

We all look different. Some of us have darker skin. Some of us have lighter colored eyes, or differently shaped eyes. Some of us have more body hair than others, while others only have more head on their heads than average people. Why are Middle Eastern people so hairy?

Ancestry Plays a Role in Body Hair

As with any physical characteristic, ancestry plays a role in the amount of body hair that a person has, for all races of people. People who descend from colder climates tend to have more body hair, just as people from hotter areas of the world tend to have darker skin.

People often think that Middle Eastern countries are unbearably hot, and that this would mean that they shouldn’t be as hairy. This isn’t exactly true. Middle Eastern countries are extremely hot, but because there is a great deal of sand in the middle east, it very well could be that their ancestry demands more body hair to protect the skin from blowing sand – although there is no scientific evidence to back up this theory.

Genes Play a Role in Body Hair

Just as the climate where you descend from plays a role in your physical characteristics, the genes of your ancestors play a role. In almost all cases, people have a combination of the physical makeup of their two biological parents – and they may even look more like their grandparents than their parents, or their great-grandparents. If someone in your past bloodline was exceptionally hairy, it is entirely possible that you will also be hairier than usual.

Stereotyping Middle Eastern People and Other Cultures

Too often, we stereotype certain races of people. Black people have coarse hair. Indians tend to smell. Middle Eastern people tend to be hairy. The truth is that white people can have coarse hair, Hispanics can have body odor, and although it is rare, even Asians can have an excessive amount of body hair.

Therefore, it is really unfair, and stereotypical, to ponder whether or why some people have characteristics that other people do not have. There are numerous reasons as to why some people have more hair than others, why some people have more issues with body odor, why some people have different textured skin or hair, and so on – and those reasons are not always connected to race or heritage. Thankfully, we all get to look different from each other, despite our heritage.

Arab people are very hairy and we don’t lie about it. It’s not
A stereotype but rather a fact :) I mean most black people have nappy hair but his ofc doesn’t mean all of them do that’s the same way we are mostly hairy. I don’t get offended cuz I know we can take it off with laser :)
