Chlorella is one of the purest green algae in the world. It is widely researched for its nutrition and health benefits.

What is Chlorella?
It is single cell green algae. It is part of the phylum Chlorophyta family. It contains ten times the amount of beta carotene found in carrots and has a higher chlorophyll content than any other plant known. This alga is rich in vitamin B12 and other B vitamins.
Scientific Research of Chlorella and its Health Benefits
Chlorella is one of the most researched algae among scientists. This research has shown that it has significant health benefits for the blood stream because it contains a complex molecule that binds to heavy metals to help efficiently filter the toxins from the body. In doing this it helps with blood pressure and blood sugar. Chlorella helps in building blood cells which circulate throughout our bodies and boosts our immune systems.
Chlorella and its Health Benefits
Chlorella contains chlorophyll which is well known for its ability to help purify the blood and clean and detoxify some of our vital organs. Chlorella offers many other health benefits such as:
- Improving the digestive system – This algae is very rich in fiber and can increase the production of microflora in the intestine. This increase can help you eliminate your food cravings and improve your intestinal elimination process.
- Reducing Cholesterol – The omega-3, alpha linolenic fatty acids are effective in lowering the bad cholesterol in the body.
- Protection when receiving radiation therapy for cancer treatment – Has been shown to protect the body from the damaging effects of cancer radiation treatment.
- Weight Loss – Because chlorella provides so many essential nutrients and helps the body eliminate hunger pangs, it is helpful when dieting.
- Detoxification – It helps remove heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium from the body.
- Diabetes – Many studies have focused on the benefit to diabetes by helping to stabilize glucose levels.
Chlorella has grown in popularity as a food supplement because of its many health benefits. It is considered to be a whole food rich in protein and caretenoids. The high amounts of chlorophyll help to aid in digestion and cleanse the bowel. Its ability to help purify the blood and improve the health of the immune system is another reason that this algae has become so popular as a natural food supplement.
