Leukemia can cause a blood clotting disorder as well. Other illnesses that could lead to a blood clotting disorder include Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and Dengue Shock Syndrome. If any health problems lead to a blood clotting disorder, the disorder is considered to be ‘acquired.’
Genetic Causes of a Blood Clotting Disorder
You could have a blood clotting order due to missing genes that are required for blood clotting. These specific genes are actually responsible for producing the protein that is needed for coagulation. If a genetic cause is suspected, genetic testing will normally be done to pinpoint the cause.
Symptoms of a blood clotting disorder include excessive bleeding, bleeding without a cause, red spots, bruises, bloody stools, nose bleeds, and bleeding gums. Additionally, you may feel fatigued the majority of the time as well, until the problem is identified and treated properly.
Complications of Blood Clotting Disorders
There are numerous complications associated with blood clotting disorders. You could have bleeding in the soft tissues, damage to joints, anemia, diseases or infections from transfusions, cerebral hemorrhage, or you could become injured and essentially bleed to death.
