If you aren’t feeling your best, there are many potential causes of this. One cause that few people think about, however, is a vitamin deficiency. You need more of certain foods – or a good multivitamin. First, however, you need to know the vitamin deficiency symptoms.

Signs of a Vitamin Deficiency
The symptoms of certain vitamin deficiencies differ, but almost all vitamin deficiencies have similar symptoms. You will almost always feel a lack of energy, but other symptoms will also be present. Your hair may appear dull. Your nails may become thin or brittle. Your skin may be overly dry. You may start experiencing problems with your teeth and bleeding gums.
Additionally, there may be trouble with your vision, or start experiencing changes in your mood that are very noticeable to other people, even if you don’t notice those changes yourself. Other symptoms may be present as well, depending on the vitamin that your body is lacking.
How to avoid Vitamin Deficiency Symptoms
The only way to avoid vitamin deficiency symptoms is to make sure that you are getting the recommended daily allowance of all vitamins. This is usually taken care of with a quality multivitamin that meets the RDA (recommended daily allowance) standards.
If you are consuming enough of all vitamins, but your body is still deficient, this means that your body is not absorbing or using the vitamins correctly, which usually indicates another health problem. You will need medical care and testing to determine what the problem is.
Which Vitamin do you need more of?
Only a blood test can determine which vitamin your body is deficient in. In some cases, however, your doctor can make a pretty accurate guess concerning the vitamin that you need more of based on the symptoms that you have. While doctors guesses are usually pretty good, based on their education and experience, a blood test should be relied on more heavily, and you should request one if your doctor does not automatically recommend this.
