While you can still enjoy life, to an extent, if your health isn’t great, the best in life is enjoyed by those who are healthy enough to go out and get the best that life has to offer. When you go from being healthy to being unhealthy, your quality of life changes drastically, and you must either adapt or remain miserable until you die. Since the easiest thing to do is to remain in great health for as long as possible, you need preventative care, and this means getting medical tests. There are several medical tests that women need regularly in order to maintain good health.

Gynecological Medical Tests for Women
Although more women now die from heart disease than any other disease, it wasn’t very long ago that cancer was the leading cause of death for women – particularly cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. You need to see your gynecologist at least once a year.
Your gynecologist should perform a pap smear to catch ovarian cancer or cervical cancer early. Your gynecologist can also perform a mammogram to help catch breast cancer early. For these types of cancer, your survival depends on early detection and treatment. Other tests that can be performed by your gynecologist include testing for STDs and HIV testing, although the need for this type of testing really depends on your lifestyle.
Heart Health Tests for Women
Heart Disease is the number one killer of women today. For this reason, you need to take your heart health very seriously. This means eating right, exercising, checking your blood pressure regularly, and having Cholesterol Screening at least once a year.
Your blood pressure and your Cholesterol numbers will help your doctor to determine whether your risk of heart attacks, heart disease, or strokes has increased, and with your doctor, you can take measures to reduce that risk – but you need to know what is going on inside your body in order to take the right measures.
Other Important Medical Tests for Women
Other medical tests that are important for women include tests for bone density, so that you can try to prevent osteoporosis – or at the very least slow the progression of osteoporosis. You also need to be screened for colon cancer, skin cancer, and diabetes. Although hearing problems and vision problems typically are not life threatening, you should also have your vision and hearing checked every couple of years.
