Swedish Bitters is an interesting concoction of natural herbs that offer surprising benefits. The herbal recipe is remarkably old, dating back its inception in the 16th century when Dr. Paracelsus created the combination. The supplement is supposed to have outstanding effects on the body, as evidenced by some of its proponents.

Among the most notable proponents is Dr. Claus Samset, who brought the ancient herbal remedy to attention. His collection of writings offer praise for Swedish Bitters and considering that the good doctor died at the age of 104, it is safe to assume that he knew the benefits of adopting the healthful supplement. It is important to note that Dr. Samset died because of a riding accident, not of an illness or medical condition.
Maria Treben
The history of Swedish Bitters would not be complete without Maria Treben who used Dr. Samset’s writings to educate people in Europe about the benefits of taking the herbal supplements. Maria Treben’s book Healing Through God’s Pharmacy offers instructions and insight into using the herbs for improving health and for treating illnesses.

The Old Manuscript
The writing of particular interest is Samset’s Old Manuscript that outlines a staggering list of 46 conditions that can be treated with Swedish Bitters. Information and a partial list of conditions is available in The Story of Swedish Bitters. All 46 ailments are listed on Paracelsus Elixer and this site offers a recipe for creating the Swedish Bitters as well as recommended doses. Conditions include:
• Improve memory and brain functioning
• Eczema
• Digestion problems
• Epilepsy
• Jaundice
• Irregular menstrual cycles
• Scar treatment
• Insomnia
• Depression
• Morning sickness
Swedish Bitters for Pregnancy
A few of the conditions listed in the Old Manuscript occur during pregnancy, including morning sickness and inducing labor. Since the creation of Swedish Bitters is so old, women who are pregnant and nursing should consult their physicians before using the herbal supplement. Some of the ingredients found in the recipe are not appropriate for pregnancy.
Ingredients
The magic of the elixir lies in its carefully selected. Some recipes use alcohol in the mixture. Some recipes do not use alcohol, concentrating on the herbs instead.

• Angelica root
• Rhubarb root
• Carline thistle root
• Zedoary root
• Myrrh
• Saffron

The ingredients are completely natural, but as with any herbal supplement, it is important to discuss the homeopathic medicine with a physician. Swedish Bitters and Longevity
Swedish Bitters is considered to be an elixir for long life. One of the benefits of taking the herbal supplement is its anti-aging properties. Not only does the mixture address many ailments, but it also helps the individual look and feel younger in the process. The resurgence of the old herbal remedy is one that reminds us that some of the oldest recipes are the most beneficial.

I came across Swedish Bitters some few days ago and i have since started taking it as subliment day and night. No appreciable changes has being observed probably cos of the short time usage. i still believe that i will gain its benefit as i continue using it with time. I read its literature review and other users comment and strongly believe that it will be of mutual benefit to me in the course of time. I think is a good product to be use by those seeking for a better health.
