The premise of naked yoga is founded on the belief that by not wearing clothes, the body will be fully seen and appreciated in all its beauty and exquisiteness. After removing this layer, we will be freer to exam our raw beliefs and practices and move closer to truth and sheer joy.
Simple Naked Yoga Poses
Naked yoga poses are the same as regular yoga poses but just without clothes on. Here are some simple naked yoga poses for you to try:
Child’s Pose (Balasana) – Resting Pose
Kneel on the floor and sit on your heels with your great toes touching. Place your legs apart to align with your hips. Lay your trunk between your legs while exhaling. Your arms should be at either side of you, palms facing up, while your shoulders drape towards the front of the floor. Hold this pose for up to three minutes.
Standing Half Forward Bend (Ardha Uttanasana) – Intense Stretch
Standing, touch your fingertips to the floor on either side of your feet. Straighten your elbows and arch your thorax up, away from your legs. Allow your fingertips to touch up and back on the floor while you straighten your chest toward the sky. Hold this position with back arched for a few minutes then release and exhale.
You too may be hooked on naked yoga after trying the above poses in the nude and feeling an awareness of a positive body image and peace.
