If I were to set aside the biological, the physiological, the anthropological, the psychological and whatever other “ologicals” set the human species apart from other mammals while establishing a commonality between all man and womankind, I would name “weight” as the single most common issue among all people around the globe. Look around you. Whether it is for self-esteem and aesthetics; to be in line with the latest vogue or to improve health and sustain a wholesome lifestyle; everyone seems to be worried about their excess weight and looking for ways to drop it.

An entire multi-billion dollar industry thrives because men and women from different cultures, diverse ethnicities, and poles apart geographically and economically are all dieting to lose weight with the help of a myriad of gadgets and widgets and the thousands of new and old diet programs. It would seem that, in light of so much variety and so much assistance, dieting should come easy but that it not so at all. If you have ever tried, you would know that dieting is hard, it is boring and as frustrating as anything I can think of.
Dieting Is Difficult But It Can Be Made Much Easier
Yes. That is very true, dieting is hard but there is a way to make it an easier venture. How? With diet shakes. Prepared correctly and with the proper ingredients, diet shakes will relieve the monotony and drudgery of dieting because they are:
• Delicious as they contain your favorite fruits and vegetables.
• Nutritious by adding the vitamins and minerals your body needs for optimal health and wellbeing.
• Satisfying with their fiber content filling your stomach to get rid of annoying hunger pangs.
• Enjoyable as they provide the fun which dieting takes away.
Make Your Own Mouthwatering Diet Shakes
You could buy diet shakes from your neighborhood health food store or even at the supermarket but why not make them yourself? They are easy and you would be saving money, ensuring that the ingredients are fresh without preservatives and you would be making them exactly to your own individual taste. It may require some experimenting on your part but the process will be entertaining and the outcome will be worth the time and effort. I guarantee it!
To make your own mouthwatering diet shakes you would need:
• A blender or a food processor.
• Frozen or fresh fruits and vegetables of your choice.
• Low calorie liquids such as non-fat yogurt, skim milk, soy milk or juices.
• Protein powder.
• Flavoring such as vanilla, chocolate, etc.
• Ice cubes if you are using fresh fruits and vegetables rather than frozen ones.
With all your equipment and ingredients at your finger tips, feel free to get as creative as you wish by using different combinations of the fruits and vegetables, try out the different flavorings and so on. Throw it all into the blender or food processor and get it to liquefy everything into a smooth drink. Pour it into a glass and enjoy the best shake you have ever had.
To get you started, here are two of my personal favorites:
• One peeled apple, a dozen frozen blueberries, one peeled banana and two peeled and deseeded oranges.
• One peeled apple, five fresh strawberries, one peeled banana, half a cup of sliced pineapple, one scoop of vanilla protein powder, half a cup of carrot juice and three ice cubes.
Mmm, mmm, good!
