First, bring your bottom lip over your upper lip as far as you can and hold this position for about 10 to 15 seconds and then relax the muscle and repeat the process.  Another way to exercise the platysma muscle is to lay down on your side on a soft surface and place your head on a pillow. Gently stretch your head and neck backwards to help strengthen this muscle.

Clothing such as turtle neck shirts or sweaters should be avoided as they accent the jaw line.  Open neck clothing and longer jewelry draws attention away from the double chin.  Use of a darker shade of make up just under the jaw line can also help to minimize the double chin.
