How to Feel Fresh and Energetic Everyday

Energy, like time, is something that we each have a limited supply of. Fortunately, unlike time, you can do certain things to gain more energy, allowing you to feel fresh and energetic everyday, all day long. There are three areas of your life that need special attention and adjustments to feel fresh and energized.

Eating Right to Feel Fresh and Energetic Everyday

You’ve been told since childhood, in most cases, about the importance of eating a healthy diet. If you want to feel fresh and energetic, this is very important. Try to include lots of protein, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet, and avoid sugary foods. Bananas are especially great for energy, because of the potassium and enzymes that they contain.

Also make sure that you are drinking plenty of good water each day. This does not include water that is consumed with coffee, tea, or carbonated drinks. You need to get your fill of plain old water each day.

Sleeping Right to Feel Fresh and Energetic Everyday

Lack of sleep is the biggest cause of lack of energy. You need to get at least six hours of sleep each night and no more than eight hours, according to professionals. However, how much sleep that you require depends on you, as each individual is different. Try keeping a sleep journal, and set your alarm to get different lengths of sleep, trying each length for a solid week.

For example, for the first week, get six hours of sleep each night. For the second week, get seven hours. Continue this up to ten hours and make entries in your journal concerning how tired you were when you went to bed, how hard it was to wake up, and how much energy you had that day. With this information, determine the appropriate amount of sleep for you.

Living Right to Feel Fresh and Energetic Everyday

Along with eating and sleeping right, if you really want to feel fresh and energetic everyday, there are other things that you need to do. You need to get plenty of exercise – about three times a week. You also need to reduce stress, which can be done with a combination of meditation and deep breathing exercises. Nothing can sap your energy like stress can.

Other things that you can do to increase your energy include aromatherapy, music, power naps, and positive thinking. It is also important to remember that energy always creates more energy. If you are feeling a lack of energy, instead of taking a nap, get up and start moving!
