The other substance found to make drinking red wine healthy is Resveratrol. Resveratrol has the effect of increasing the good cholesterols (HDL) and also contains other antioxidant properties to help in the prevention of plaque formation on arterial walls, venous walls and prevention of clot formation.

Recent reports have shown many benefits related to Resveratrol. These include increasing antioxidant levels, increasing fat burning and metabolism, preventing heart disease and stroke, cancer prevention, improves and strengthens the brain and cell degeneration and it is said to improve our natural energy.

Red wine has many health benefits.  It has been proven that red wine can help lower LDL (bad cholesterol) in the body.  By lowering the bad cholesterol the risk of vascular disease such as fatty deposits causing blood clots to form and damage to the blood vessels are greatly reduced.

Studies have shown that the risk for heart attack is reduced by 30 to 50% for women who drink one glass of wine per day and men who drink two glasses of wine per day. Benefits are achieved by drinking red wine in moderation.  Over indulging can actually put you at risk for other medical conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, stroke, cardiac arrhythmia and cardiac arrest.
