Uses for Aloe Moisturizer at Home

Aloe is used to treat sunburns, but it can also be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. This isn’t all that it is used for. Aloe moisturizer can be used for dry skin, for bug bites, for rashes, for cuts, and more. While there are an incredible number of uses for Aloe, it is important to realize that once the aloe is turned into an actual lotion, with other ingredients, it may not be suitable for treating certain conditions, as the other ingredients may cause more harm.

Making Aloe Moisturizer at Home

To make Aloe Moisturizer at home, you will need about a tablespoon of beeswax, one tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel, two tablespoons of lanolin, and a third of a cup of extra virgin olive oil. You can additionally add some rose water and an essential oil of your choice. For these, just a few drops will do.

You can melt the beeswax together with the lanolin in the microwave, and then mix the Aloe Vera gel and olive oil in with the wax mixture, stirring vigorously, and add the rose water and essential oil. Continue to briskly stir or whip the mixture until it reaches the consistency that you prefer for lotion. Pour all of this into a clean jar or container that has a tight fitting lid and you will have your very own moisturizer to use day or night for about a month.

Don’t forget that once the Aloe Vera is added to other ingredients, it may not be suitable for the treatment of some skin conditions. For this reason, it’s always a good idea to have an Aloe Vera plant on hand. If you have a plant, when you need the soothing gel inside, you can cut off a leaf with a knife, and slice it open lengthwise to access the soothing gel.

This gel can be rubbed directly onto bug bites, sunburns, rashes, cuts, burns, and other skin irritations. You do not need to do anything special to the Aloe Vera gel other than to use it in its most natural form.
