Depression therapy is not a one size fits all treatment. Individuals are affected by depression in various ways and treatments should be tailored to fit the individual. Treatment takes time and commitment to be effective and may need to be changed along the way as your condition changes. Do not rely only on medication; although effective it is much more effective when combined with therapy and lifestyle changes.

Psychotherapy for Depression Therapy

Psychotherapy is beneficial for those who suffer from any level of depression. With psychotherapy a person is able to develop appropriate and beneficial coping strategies. There are various types of psychotherapy which may include individual therapy, family or group therapy. The coping strategies learned through this type of therapy enable you to deal with the everyday stressors in your life. Therapy can be very effective for helping you cope with the effects of depression, it is important to maintain the regimen designed for you by your therapist and your physician for the best outcome.

Medication for Depression Therapy

Doctors generally prescribe medications to help manage depression symptoms. These medications may include antidepressants, stimulants and anti-anxiety drugs. Stimulants and anti-anxiety medications are not effective against depression when they are not used in conjunction with anti-depressant medications.

Because chemicals in the brain can lead to depression, an imbalance of those chemicals can cause clinical depression. Researchers have discovered that norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine which are neurotransmitters that transmit electrical impulses between the brain cells are lacking in those who are clinically depressed. By supplementing or modifying these chemicals it is believed that it can improve emotions. Some anti-depressant medications work by increasing the availability of the neurotransmitters, others are effective by changing the sensitivity of the receptors of the impulses.

Electroconvulsive Therapy for Depression Therapy

ECT is generally only used when there is severe depression that has not responded to other forms of therapy and medications. It can also be used if the patient needs immediate relief such as when they pose a real threat to themselves or others and would be dangerous to wait for medications and therapy to be effective.

Electroconvulsive therapy which is more commonly known as electroshock treatment is performed by a skilled physician. During this therapy a very brief electric shock is applied through the scalp to the brain. This electric current induces a seizure basically resetting the brain. This treatment is highly effective in treating depression.

Darkfield Microscopy, also known as Live Blood Analysis, is a special technique through which people may see their own live blood cells on a video screen. Unlike typical blood tests, which are based on chemical analysis, with Darkfield Microscopy the blood sample is assessed visually and the patient’s blood cells, as well as other bodies the exist within the blood stream such as bacteria and micro-organisms, can be observed in their living state. It is thought that by observing the blood in this way, a health professional will be able to detect nutritional disorders before outward symptoms have developed.

Darkfield Microscopy Description

In Darkfield Microscopy, the health professional and the patient together observe “live blood”. Substances that may be observed in a live blood sample include: white blood cells, red blood cells, plasma, microbial activity, undigested food, fungi, and crystals.

Since under darkfield microscopy, the blood is, in fact, alive, the movement of the blood cells may be observed: white blood cells attack waste matter while red blood cells move around actively.

In the body, red blood cells carry oxygen to the organs and tissues. All the cells in the body require oxygen to remain healthy and if the red blood cells are not doing their job it is only natural that an adverse health condition results. It is thought that cancer is a by-product of oxygen deprived tissue.

Darkfield Microscopy Techniques

A drop of blood is pricked from the patient’s finger using a fine needle. The blood is placed on a glass slide and then examined using a special darkfield microscope. The magnification of the microscope is usually in the order of 1000x. Most practitioners will have their microscope connected to a video screen so that the patient may see the live blood sample for theirself. The practitioner will point out cells that are in damaged or in a degenerative state.

The term darkfield refers to the microscopic image having a dark background. Light objects, such as blood cells, show up against the dark background. Darkfield microscopy relies on a very bright light being directed at the sample at such an angle that the reflection of the light is sent to the lens. Under standard “brightfield” conditions, the light is shined directly onto the the sample. It is thought that darkfield microscopy better allows for certain elements within the blood stream to be observed.

Darkfield Microscopy Rouleau Effect

When Darkfield Microscopy is performed, the practitioner will be looking out for what is known as the “rouleau” effect. This is where red blood cells clump together, just like a stack of coins. It is thought that the rouleau effect is devastating for oxygen distribution within the blood as the red blood cells are too stuck together to move freely.

If a rouleau effect is observed under darkfield microscopy, this may indicate to the health professional that the patient should improve their diet.

Darkfield Microscopy Criticisms

Darkfield Microscopy is not a treatment that is recognised by conventional medical science. Critics claim that live blood analysis under Darkfield Microscopy does not allow for blood parts to be properly identified. It is claimed by critics that anything that may be properly observed through darkfield microscopy is already visible under convention blood analysis. It is also thought by adherents to conventional science, that the rouleau effect does not indicate any specific disease and is thus of no use for the purposes of diagnosis.

Denas, which stands for Dynamic Electro Neuro Adaptive Stimulator, is a battery operated non-invasive electronic nerve energy regulator and stimulator which employs SCENAR technology at full strength. Denas therapy is non-toxic, portable, energy-efficient and completely drugless.

Denas is used within many spheres of medicine. Doctors, physicians, chiropractors, osteopaths, sports therapist, beauty therapists, health practitioners, Naturopath as well as unqualified purveyors of healing treatment can all make use of Denas therapy.

Denas therapy optimises health, improves functionality, relieves pain and induces a person’s body into an ideal physical state by promoting the release of the body’s own neuropeptides.

Denas Therapy History

Around 30 years ago, Russian scientists worked at the Centre of Aerospace Flights to develop technology that would control the internal conditions of the human body. The technology was known as SCENAR – Self Controlling Energo-Neuro Regulation. SCENAR technology was to be developed into a portable, non-invasive, treatment device with the potential to be used by cosmonauts in space.

SCENAR technology is related to TENS – Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator – a technology that was developed concurrently in the USA. The concept of TENS was to block pain, but SCENAR went further in that it aimed to modulate the body’s internal function and increase the strength of the body’s natural homoeostasis process. Thus SCENAR technology has strong parallels with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In 1995 the Denas Corporation was setup in Russia, and it now produces a variety of Denas devices based on SCENAR technology. Denas stands for Dynamic Electro Neuro Adaptive Simulation. Since the late 1990s, Denas therapy has spread around the world.

Denas Therapy Theory

Denas Therapy aims to strengthen the nervous system. The nervous system, made up of 40-45 billion nerve cells, is responsible for adapting the body so that it may thrive under a variety of external conditions. It is thought that when the nervous system is weakened, the body will be more susceptible to illness and injury due to external factors.

Conditions of disease or excessive stress, can cause the nervous system to malfunction. Until the nervous system is returned to its healthy state, a person will be prone to suffering from a variety of diseases.

A Denas therapy device will transmit a unique signal into the body, designed to correct regulatory deficiencies in the nervous system. It is thought that Denas therapy can reduce the time required for a person to recover from illness.

Denas Therapy Treatment

When Denas Therapy is performed, the subject must be either sitting or lying down. Where the Denas device is applied, it must come into contact with bare skin, thus it may be required that clothes are removed. The therapy is generally not uncomfortable as the power level of the device can be adjusted to suit the patient. Some patients describe a tingling feeling, or a feeling of slight scratchiness.

Results of Denas therapy can begin to appear quickly, but a course of treatment may consist of between 1 to 14 procedures. The degree to which nervous system function has been disabled must be taken into account when considering the time required to restore it.

The low voltage signal of a Denas Therapy Device, 1.5 Volts, serves to switch on parts of the nervous system that may have become accustomed to disease and therefore no longer fight against it.

Denas Therapy Benefits

Denas Therapy is popular in conjunction with physiotherapy. The self-healing potential that Denas Therapy encourages is considered to be extremely useful for people who have undergone physiotherapy.

Diseases of the cardiovascular system may be treated or prevented through Denas therapy. Doctors are now recommending Denas therapy to patients who may be at risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Because Denas Therapy is non-invasive, it is well suited for use on children. While a child might be frightened or agitated by other forms of treatment, Denas Therapy can be applied to them easily.

Dance Movement Therapy is a form of art therapy. Patients are directed to express their inner feelings through dance movement, and this is thought to bring about healing from disease and trauma. Sometimes through verbal dialogue deep seated negative emotions will elude a therapist, but through Dance Movement Therapy it is thought that emotion may be more readily expressed. Under Dance Movement Therapy, the body and mind are inseparable entities. Psychological issues are brought out to the physical level.

Dance Movement Therapy is used in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, day care centres and counselling centres.

Dance Movement Therapy History – Marian Chace

Marian Chace, who was born in 1896 and lived to the age 74, is considered a founder of modern dance movement therapy. Although she formally studied dance and choreography, she became heavily influenced by the ideas of renowned psychologist, Carl Jung. Chace developed ideas about the therapeutic possibilities of dance and educated in hospitals and schools.

It was in the 1960s that she founded a program for dance movement therapists in New York. The American Dance Therapy Association was founded in 1966 with Marian Chace as its first president.

Today, the American Dance Therapy Association promotes the highest standards of education and practice in the field of Dance Movement Therapy. It publishes the American Journal of Dance Therapy. The American Dance Therapy Association has over a thousand members, with international members spanning the following countries: Canada, Australia, Argentina, France, England, Germany, Ireland, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and The Netherlands.

Dance Movement Therapy Example

A Dance Movement Therapy session normally begins with a warm up so that the muscles can loosen up. Therapy usually incorporates music but it doesn’t have to. The practitioner does not directly set the theme for the session; the mood of the dancers plays out in their movements and the practitioner will attempt to guide this so to produce maximum benefit for all participants. If patients feel like speaking while they dance, they are encouraged to do so; the practitioner will then challenge the dancers to incorporate these verbalised feelings into their dance movements.

People May Benefit From Dance Movement Therapy

There are a wide variety of people who may benefit from Dance Movement Therapy. Persons experiencing emotional conflicts, problems or distress, are prime examples of people who might benefit from the treatment. Dance Movement Therapy can be of assistance to people wishing to enhance their personal communication skills, as, by communicating non-verbally within a group of dancers, people become more in tune with what they wish to express. Some people may have experienced trauma in their lives, which they suppress emotionally but still carry with them in their physical body; dance movement therapy can help these people to release themselves from the burden of past trauma. If a person cannot speak verbally, for instance, if they may have suffered serious injury to their tongue, then it is through dance movement therapy that they can express their feelings and be free of their inner-burden. People without specific problems that they can point to, who feel that something is not right, can benefit greatly from Dance Movement Therapy, as the issues that elude their conscious mind are able to emerge though the free physical movement generated by the therapy.

Benefits of Dance Movement Therapy include: increasing self-awareness; experiencing links between feelings, thoughts and actions; expressing powerful feelings and actions; maximising the ability to communicate; testing the consequences of free expression on others; managing the feelings that obstruct learning; the development of trusting relationships.

The Demartini Method has been developed over thirty years and combines research and studies in various disciplines including philosophy, physics, theology, philosophy, metaphysics, astronomy, psychology, physiology and neurology.

Through use of the Demartini Method, it is claimed that healing processes that may have, in the past, taken weeks months or years, can be now accomplished in mere hours. It is also a claim of practitioners of the Demartini Method that not only is the method effective, but it is also foolproof.

The Demartini Method involves the use of a series of pre-determined questions and actions which are directed toward the purpose of causing a person’s conscious mind to reach a state of presence and certainty and for their physical body to experience feelings of unconditional love and gratitude.

Demartini Method – Dr Demartini

Dr. John Demartini was born in Houston Texas. When he was seven years of age he was diagnosed with a learning disability. It was supposed at this time that Dr. Demartini would never learn to read, write or to properly communicate. Dropping out of school at age fourteen, Dr Demartini lived on the streets and survived by begging for food.
A near-death-experience at the age of seventeen caused Dr. Demartini to take a new perspective on life. He made a decision to dedicate his life to becoming a healer, teacher and philosopher. This has been his mission ever since. He became a doctor of chiropractic healing and a life long student of science, philosophy and theology. Dr. Demartini is one of the teachers who appeared in the well known movie, “The Secret”.

Today Dr. Demartini speaks regularly about transformation and self-actualisation and appears in over fifty countries across the globe. He is the author of more than forty books.

Demartini Method – Ideas

The Demartini Method observes that people can easily find themselves limited by rigid perceptions and as a consequence become stuck in a particular emotional state. Inevitably people become fixated on negatives in their life and lose sight of what is positive. The Demartini Method allows for people to view their lives in a balanced way, so that they may make the right decisions for themselves.

Once a person is aware of the positives in their life, they will be able to freely experience positive emotions such as gratitude and love. It is thought that positive emotions enhance the immune system and promote healing.

Demartini Method – The Breakthrough Experience

Of the many Demartini talks and seminars on offer, The Breakthrough Experience, an intense two day program, is the one that is most eminent. People who attend The Breakthrough Experience will have their day-to-day assumptions challenged, and will receive new formulae for living, achieving goals and relating to others. False personalities will be examined and participants will be guided on a deep exploration of the mystery that is life.

It is claimed that attendees to The Breakthrough Experience, will achieve greater clarity of purpose, love, self worth, certainty, appreciation and masterful presence.

Demartini Method – Online Store

A variety of products are available for purchase through the Demartini Online Store . Products include books, CDs and DVDs.

‘Gurus of The Secret’ is a downloadable audio series that incorporates a number of follow-up interviews relating to The Secret. Speakers include Bob Proctor, Dr. Joe Vitale and Dr. Demartini.

‘Life’s Driving Force’ features Dr. Demartini at his best and presents his core methodologies for achieving personal fulfilment. In this 2 CD set is contained information that is purported to allow for people to know their purpose in life, to make a valuable impact on the world, to have more power, to develop presence and certainty, to life life in a sincere way and to feel, no matter the circumstances of their life, loved.

A doula is a trained childbirth assistant. Their role is to provide expecting mothers with emotional, physical and informational support. They are often present for the birth of the baby, and provide similar services afterwards, so the new mother is as comfortable in her new role as possible. The word ‘doula’ itself is a Greek word meaning ‘woman servant or caregiver’. Doulas are trained and experienced in childbirth, although they may not have children themselves. Their knowledge of the female body is good for assisting the mother, however they are not trained in the same clinical manner as a midwife or doctor.

The role of the Doula

A doula offers a range of different services, depending on the needs and situation of the expectant mother. Usually, the doula will meet with the mother, or the couple, before the birth, and is available for additional meetings if necessary. The doula’s main job is during labour, however. Birth support doulas attend to the emotional and physical needs of the patient in order to make labour a smooth process. Doulas are not trained to perform vaginal examinations, or check heart rates. Their primary treatments are through massage, reflexology, and aromatherapy that affects breathing , comfort, movement and positioning. They also speak on behalf of their client to medical staff to communicate wishes and make decisions that involve the medical process. After the birth, the doula can assist the new mother in settling in to her new role, and provide advice about breast-feeding and infant soothing, and aid the mother’s emotional recovery.

Doula Support for Partners

Doula assistants are also trained to help the partner of the mother-to-be, as they can be under-prepared for both the labour and subsequent child-rearing. The doula does not try to supplant the father, so much as they do try to aid the father where appropriate and give them the benefit of years of experience. The doula is also there to help the father emotionally, as it is a time of change for him as much as it is for the mother. With this in mind, the doula’s job is to facilitate a smooth birthing process by keeping both parts of the couple as comfortable as possible – whether it be with food, drinks, pillows or emotional support. This is intended to leave the father free to look after the mother and share the experience more fully with her.

Doula Benefits

Doulas are believed to offer many benefits to both the mother, father and child involved in the birth. Women with doula helpers have been known to have shorter labours, less medication, lower rates of operative vaginal surgery, and lower rates of cesarean delivery. The babies themselves are believed to have reduced foetal distress, and it is believed to decrease the likelihood of their being admitted to intensive care after birth. The mother’s self esteem is believed to be positively affected, and her emotional distress lessened.

Selecting a Doula

As an employer and a mother it is important to select the right person to assist you through the birthing process. The nature of the doula’s role is quite intimate, so prospective doula employers are encouraged to listen to their initial feeling about people they are considering to hire. Some people may want a doula who is a strong advocate, but others require ongoing physical support throughout the labour. It is also important to make sure the doula’s views on birth align with the expectant mother’s, so there are no unnecessary complications through the stressful time of childbirth. DONA International is the premier doula association of the world.

By using the Di Morrow Method, it may be possible for women to reduce cellulite. This can have significant self-esteem benefits for women in that it gives them the power to maintain their bodies holistically, without resorting to cosmetic surgery. As well as cellulite reduction, the Di Morrow Method is used for face lifts and breast enhancement.

The Di Morrow Method is a method of body contouring that has been developed by Di Morrow over her extensive career in massage therapy. The Di Morrow method is completely non-invasive and can be applied to all parts in the body to bring about visible uplifting, smooth contours and firmer flesh. Exercise, dieting and other lifestyle alterations are not necessary with the Di Morrow Method.

Cellulite

Cellulite refers to a condition occurring in women, and some in men, wherein the skin of the pelvic region, abdomen and lower limbs become dimpled. Cellulite can begin to appear after puberty. The majority of females who have passed the age of puberty will experience cellulite to some degree.

It is not wholly understood by conventional medical science why cellulite forms. It is believed that there is a strong hormonal link, which would explain why men rarely suffer from the condition.

There is no link between cellulite and being overweight; people who are of average weight, or who are underweight, may still get cellulite.

Di Morrow Method Biography

Living in Newcastle, in the Australian state of New South Wales, Di Morrow operates her special clinic. Di’s extensive training history includes Japanese and Swedish massage, physiology and body therapy for sports injuries. Di Morrow has attained post graduate honours in the fields of facial massage, nutrition, Shiatsu pressure points, zone therapy and health research.

Di Morrow’s clients will tell you about her “magic hands”, she is said to have an extremely high sensitivity of touch. These abilities allow Di Morrow to sense minute body tissue variations through her fingertips.

To this day, Di Morrow continues to develop her techniques while teaching, running seminars, working and seeking further support for research into the properties of the lymph system.

Di Morrow Method Development

Di Morrow began to first experiment with cellulite reduction when she was involved in the treatment of sports injuries. In her work, it was important to eliminate oedema from the part of the body being treated. Odema is an accumulation of lymph which leads to swelling. Through standard massage therapy, the oedema fluid is filtered into the lymph system.

However, normal massage therapy does not treat cellulite. Di Morrow’s experimentation on patients with both oedema and cellulite brought her to the realisation that cellulite was also caused by fluid accumulated within the tissue. As it could not be treated in the same way, she realised it must be stored differently. Oedema is actually stored in between the cells of the tissue; Di Morrow deduced that cellulite is caused by fluid stored within the cells themselves. Di Morrow came to understand that cellulite is caused when water accumulates within fat cells.

Over a long process of experimentation, Di Morrow was able to develop a massage technique whereby fluid could be expelled from the fat cells, removing the appearance of cellulite. Surprisingly, the Di Morrow Method removed cellulite not merely temporarily, but long-term; patient’s who had been treated by the Di Morrow method claimed that their cellulite did not return even months after treatment.

Di Morrow Method Benefits

The Di Morrow Method can be applied to any part of the body. Puffiness around the face and neck area can be reduced, resulting in a natural face lift. By applying the Di Morrow Method to the cheast area, the breast tissue can be rejuvenated without cosmetic surgery. The treatment can cause the breast skin to become taut and the breast tissue firmer. The Di Morrow Method is used to treat the saddlebag effect caused by fat deposits in the thighs. This is because the Di Morrow Method treats the underlying tissue that gives the tighs their shape. The many benefits of the Di Morrow Method can be experienced when the techniques are administered by a qualifed Di Morrow Method therapist.

Dorn Therapy was developed in the 1970s by the German healer, Dieter Dorn. It is a form of holistic therapy designed primarily to treat misalignments in the spinal column along with other joints, however it is also credited with alleviating headaches and organ problems that are results of back problems. Theoretically, it is similar to both osteopathy and chiropractic methods but in practice it is very different from either of these; it relies on the self-determined movements of the patients to re-align vertebrae. This treatment involves repetitive manual manipulation to effect balancing the body’s joints and spine.

Dorn Therapy Biography

Dieter Dorn was born in August 1938 in the South of Germany. He began his career as a sawmill owner and worker but suffered a sciatic pain from lifting heavy logs. A healer in his hometown alleviated the pain using some simple techniques, but would not pass on the secret of his success, as he believed Dorn already had the ability to heal. The healer died soon after, but Dorn was determined to develop his knowledge of vertebrae. Dorn researched traditional Chinese medicine, and used acupuncture and acupressure to great affect. During this time, he worked on his wife, and it is believed he was able to treat a spinal condition of hers that modern medicine was unable to fix without surgery. From then, Dorn refined his method, and found a connection between the meridians along the spinal column and the organs connected to the spinal nerves, which he employed in his treatments.

Dorn Therapy Description

Dorn Therapy is based largely on the idea that correcting the length of uneven legs can lead to realignment of the spinal column. When legs are a different length to one another, it can lead to a twisted pelvis and results in displacements within the spine itself. The treatment uses what Dorn calls ‘dynamic’ movement, rather than manipulation. This is grounded on the belief that muscles can assume the wrong position if held in the wrong way, due to uneven leg length, and become difficult to correct through static correction. Rather, Dorn Therapy uses movement to divert the muscles’ tension, so that the bones beneath can be realigned more successfully.

The treatment begins with an explanation of the therapy itself, and possible causes of the patient’s problems. Then, the patient is instructed to lie down, and their hip joint brought to a 90-degree angle from the body, and the leg gently manipulated from bent to straight in order to align the bones. This is then repeated with the knee and ankle joints. This same treatment can be done for any of the body’s other joints, such as elbows, wrists and shoulders. After this, the lumbar vertebrae and thoracic columns are tested for any displacement, but this must be done while the patient is standing. The practitioner corrects any problems with gentle pressure of the thumb against the bone, while the patient swings the leg from the opposite side back and forth. This is designed to encourage the muscles to move back into a better position.

Conditions Treated by Dorn Therapy

Dorn Therapy has been credited with treating: sciatic problems, hip pain, lumbago, protruding or prolapsed discs, pelvic pain, arthritis of any joint. differences in leg length, any kind of pain in the spinal column, pain in the neck or shoulders, tennis elbow, migraines, headaches, chronic inner conditions such as asthma or angina, emotional conflicts, and blockages in the flow of Chi.

Dorn Therapy Constraints

Dorn Therapy is not recommended for: immobile patients, patients who have been recently injured, cancer patients, patients with inflammations, patients with acute migraines, numb or paralytic patients or patients who are taking medication that may cause internal bleeding.

In 1920, Alexander James (Jemchoojny) discovered the cause of asthma and developed an effective way, the James Method, to treat it. In contrast to the traditional drug therapies used to treat asthma, the James Method consists of breathing exercises and Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation therapy, which work by correcting the patient’s breathing, circulation and diet.

If implemented properly, within days this drug free treatment can restore normal mobility of the chest cage and correct the breathing function. According to Dr James, this method has been used to treat and cure thousands of people across the world, eradicating asthma completely in 90% of the cases.

Dr. Alexander James Biography

Alexander James was born Alexander Jemchoojny in 1882 in Yaroslav, Russia. In 1910, he graduated with honours at the Imperial Moscow University and subsequently worked as a Medical Officer of the Solicamsk District Hospital. During World War 1, James became a Military Doctor of the Imperial Russian Army, and in 1918 the Russian doctor began working for the Kuban government.

At the age of 58, James decided to immigrate to Australia with his wife and one of his daughters. There he enrolled as a full-time student in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney.

After passing all his examinations, James opened a Sanatorium/guest house for asthma patients and began further developing the Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation method. However, during the next few years James found it hard to get this method accredited since he couldn’t prove the results of the treatment through a published article. Nonetheless the doctor’s asthma patients convinced him to persevere and direct all his attention to asthma. This proved successful and in 1961 James opened a Clinic in Wollongong.

Dr. James Method Description

The James Method is founded on the notion that asthma is a condition of the lungs and not a disease. This condition is the result of shallow, defective breathing through which the chest-cage becomes partly or severely immobilised, reducing the space which the lungs require to expand in the process of breathing. In a severe case of asthma the lack of space means that the lungs are ‘strangled’ or squeezed causing chest stagnation.

Asthmatics also suffer from Bronchitis , a condition which causes the lungs to increase in size and require more room for expansion than healthy lungs. This increase in size coupled with the pressure of a restricted chest cage is responsible for attacks of suffocation and shortness of breath.

In the light of these findings, drug therapies are not efficient in curing asthma. According to Dr James, traditional anti-asthmatic drugs are only useful in reducing the symptoms of the condition and do not help restore the lungs and chest to their former healthy state.

The James Method on the other hand works by improving the patients breathing through breathing exercises and by improving chest mobility through the Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation.

Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation

Mechanical Vibration is the term used for therapeutic massage that had currency in the USA in the early part of the 20th century. “Mechanical Vibration”, written by Dr. Arnold Snow, and published in 1912, was an important book from that era.

Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation includes both hand massage techniques and massage applied by way of mechanical devices. There are three main classifications for Mechanical Vibratory Stimulation.

Interrupted Vibration, refers to therapeutic vibration that is applied to the body with varying degrees of pressure. This vibration may be either superficial or penetrate deep into the muscle.

Stroking, refers to low pressure vibratory contact which does not penetrate into the muscle.

Friction, refers to deep vibratory impulse with varying degrees of pressure.

Rolling, refers to a backwards and forwards movement designed to stimulate underlying structures in the body.

Dr. James Method Treatment

The James Method Treatment takes between 10-14 days, depending on the severity of the asthma condition. A longer period may be required if the patient’s condition is terribly severe and/or other health issues are present.

Dowsing a an ancient healing technique that comes from European origins. It facilitates emotional healing and is believed to assist the patient’s recovery from self-destructive patterns. It is also intended to help the patient connect with a higher source or being, as well as relieve exterior pressures in order to balance emotional, mental and physical health. The treatment uses special dowsing tools to communicate with earth energies – what healers believe to be the voices of plants, animals and spirits in the world. Dowsing is also credited with being able to find hidden sources of water using a pendulum.

Dowsing Energy Healing Process

During the dowsing treatment, the healer searches for imbalances in the patient’s mind, body and aura through the diagnosis of the energy fields and lines of the body. The healers use either a long crystal pendulum, or a pair of wands to detect where these imbalances may be occurring. The treatment involves a state of deep relaxation, where brain waves are similar to that experienced in meditation. The dowsing practitioner asks of the patient’s mind simple questions and waits for an answer from their subconscious. The patient may not need a healer to attain the state of relaxation needed for healing, however it is recommended if they find meditation difficult.

Typical Dowsing Energy Healing

Usually, the patient is situated in a lying position for the duration of the treatment. The practitioner often uses a meditative process of guided relaxation with the client in order to induce the state of calm necessary for dowsing to be successful. This relaxed state is also intended to make the therapy more enjoyable for the client.

Dowsing Energy Healing Pendulums

Pendulums are used in dowsing therapy in order to facilitate energy healing in the patient. The are believed to direct the patient and practitioner to the underlying condition, whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, that gives rise to poor health. They are credited with being able to pinpoint the exact location of ailments in the body or energy field, and can therefore indicate when this problem has been corrected as well. In this way, the pendulum is believed to direct the healer to a certain style of therapy, as it can demonstrate when one treatment is working over another.

Dowsing Energy Healing Techniques Without Pendulums

Dowsing uses techniques that are unrelated to pendulums, as well. The techniques are derived from kinesiology, and can be performed by the patient themselves as a sort of manual self-testing. The patient is directed to make a circle with the thumb and forefinger on one hand, and loop the thumb and forefinger from the opposite hand through them in another circle. The patient then asks a yes/no question, and tries to open the loop with gentle pressure. If the answer is yes, the loop will not open; if they do, the answer is no. Dowsing can also use the the hand to act as a pendulum by holding the arm relaxed and letting it swing to the same effect. This can also be done using the entire arm, and relaxing from the shoulder, however practitioners believe this is a less reliable method of diagnosing potential problems compared to the other methods.

Dowsing Energy Healing and Nutrition

Dowsing has also been credited with being an effective way to establish a patient’s nutritional requirements. Some people may experience difficulty in absorbing particular nutrients, and this in turn causes vitamin imbalances, which give rise to physical problems. This has become a more central social concern since the invention and widespread dispertion of modern agricultural techniques that require many chemicals to be sprayed on fruit and vegetables. Dowsing is believed to be able to identify deficiencies in the patient’s nutritional system (in the same way as it can find emotional and physical imbalances) which can then be treated accordingly with diet changes or vitamin supplements.
