It&#8217;s as if you had not suffered enough with the acne, now you have to put up with scars as well. And to make matters even worse, those scars seem to have taken up permanent residency on your skin and will not go away. The frustration is understandable and it is utterly unfair but it is what it is.</p>
<p>Before the subject at hand, how to get rid of old acne scars, is approached, there should be some understanding about the composition of skin. Skin is comprised of three major layers; the deepest layer is the hypodermis, the middle layer is the dermis and the outer layer which the one affected by acne scars is the epidermis. The epidermis consists of four sub-layers and skin has the marvelous property of continual self rejuvenation by rotating these sub-layers. As the uppermost layer of the epidermis ages, its cells fall away and the layer beneath it now becomes the outer layer even as a new layer is forming deeper within. This is the natural exfoliation process of healthy skin. Assuming that there are no obstructions such as excess access oil or dead skin cells, any scars or blemishes that affected only the uppermost layer will fall away with the rest of the skin cells.<span id="more-225"></span></p>
<h2>Medical Procedures To Remove Acne Scars</h2>
<p>Acne scars that penetrate deeper and affect several layers of the epidermis will naturally take longer and sometime when the scars are very deep, they will not go away and will eventually becomes old acne scars.  However, all hope is not lost because the following is a list of ways to get rid of old as well as new acne scars.</p>

<p><strong>Microdermabrasion - </strong>This treatment is most effective for shallow scars rather than the very deep ones.  It involves scraping off the outer most layers of the skin with a device that uses abrasive crystals to expose a new unscarred layer.  This procedure must be performed in a medical facility.<br />
<strong>Chemical Peel</strong> -   This treatment is more effective for deeper scars and it involves chemical application that causes the top layers of the skin to peel off and expose fresh smooth skin from beneath.  There are many different types of chemical peel treatments and you should consult your dermatologist to determine which is most appropriate for your particular skin condition.  In some cases these treatments can be administered at home while in other cases medical facilities are required.</p>
<h2>Home Remedies For Acne Scars</h2>
<p>Home remedies can be just as effective while being less evasive and less costly.  There is no way of knowing which will work for whose skin and which will not.  Therefore, several of the following mixtures may have to be tried before finding the one that works like magic:</p>
<p><strong>Honey and Pearl Powder</strong> - This is useful for active acne but will also expedite the rejuvenation process of your skin and therefore expose smoother skin quicker.  Apply it for fifteen minutes once a week.<br />
<strong>Lemon Juice</strong> -  Lemon juice will lighten the dark spots left by acne and pimples.  Wash your face thoroughly and apply a cotton ball soaked in pure lemon juice to the scared area.  Leave it on for ten minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.<br />
<strong>Tea Tree Oil</strong> - This will help rid your old and new acne scars and will also work effectively to prevent future scars from appearing.<br />
<strong>Pureed Fruit</strong> - Fruit such as pineapple or apple contain ascorbic acid that fades old scars and exfoliates the skin.  Puree them, apply to affected areas and leave on for twenty minutes before rinsing off.<br />
<strong>Vitamin E</strong> - Apply pure vitamin E to your scars about three or four time a day and you should see results within two weeks.</p>

It is okay to express how you feel and you should. Here are assertiveness techniques that you can try to make you feel more assertive.</p>
<h2>It&#8217;s Ok To Say No!</h2>
<p>A workable compromise should be the first thing that you do. If someone asks you to do something and you can’t, you should let them know that your not comfortable doing it, and work out something that is feasible. For example if someone as you to work an extra shift and you have to pick the kids up from the babysitter a few hours after work. You say “I can’t work the entire shift, but I can work a few hours until you can get someone else to come in” This way you are helping solve the problem.<span id="more-215"></span></p>
<h2>The  4 Step Approach</h2>
<p>First you state the facts. Let people know what is going on do not expect them to mind read.<br />
Step 2 state how you feel. Tell someone when what they have said or done makes you mad.<br />
Step 3 come up with an outcome what would you like to see happen.<br />
Step 4 Ask for feedback. You could present a solution to a problem and say “what do you think?”</p>
<h2>Be Heard</h2>
<p>Make sure that people hear you. If you have to sound like a broken record until you get what you want. Tell the person what you want and if they put you off tell them again. Keep telling them until they give you what you are asking for.</p>
<p>If you have ever been in a thick fog then you have seen the way it seems to swallow up everything. When it comes to negative remarks you should act like a big fog bank. Accept the one true part and let the rest just go into your fog bank. If someone says “You are always late you will never amount to anything” you should say “Yes you are right I have been late a few times.” Let the rest of the remark go into your fog bank.</p>
<h2>You Are Not A Door Mat!</h2>
<p>No one should be walked all over like a mat that you wipe your feet on. You are a person and what you say matters. Everyone is equal and should be treated as equals. The next time you have a boss, a co-worker, or even a spouse that are trying to treat you like your opinion don’t count try some of these assertiveness techniques and they will soon begin to look at you in a different light.</p>
<p>The work place is most likely where you are getting more stress. By learning to assert yourself and not just taking it all in and letting the anger build up you are going to see the stress levels change. If you let the anger build up for a long time there will be an explosion and you may end up getting fired because of it. Let them know you are not going to be walked all over and ignored.</p>

<p>Meditation helps you clear your mind and calm your nerves. When you clear your mind, you wipe away everything even the phobia. Once it is wiped away you should not be as scared of it anymore. This is not to say that your phobia is completely wiped away like when you erase a chalkboard. The phobia will still be there and present itself when you are faced with it but the phobia will not be as severe.</p>

<p>Meditation and phobias work hand in hand. If you have phobias about something specific, you need to meditate. Here is a good rule of thumb, if you are scared of flying then the best time to meditate is right before you get on the plane. If Mr. T had meditated they would not have had to drug him every time he took a flight. Since many people that are scared of flying won’t even go to the airport, the best time to meditate is right before you get on the plane. When meditation has become a part of your life you can do it anywhere, even in an airport.</p>
<p>Meditation and phobias can also help for phobias like fear of snakes and spiders. Many times when a person has a fear of something, they tend to dream about it. If you take time to meditate before you go to bed, your body will be relaxed and your mind will be clear and you will be able to have a peaceful night sleep free of nightmares.</p>
<p>Many people have many kinds of phobias, that can alter their life. If you are scared of flying you will not plan a vacation that causes you to get on an airplane. You will miss out on a lot of things that you want to see because you are scared to fly. If you drive that kind of distance to see what you want to see you will have wasted your vacation driving to something you do not have time to enjoy now. If you are scared of dogs you will not go into a person’s house unless you know if they have a dog and if it is tied up. Phobias can alter a person’s life and make them not do things that they want to do. By meditating and getting the phobia out of your mind you can make it go away at least for a while.</p>
<p>You only get one life, do not live it in fear. Relax get the phobia out of your mind with meditation, and live a happy life.</p>

<p>Before you go for an aromatherapy massage you should not eat a big meal. <p>If you are someone that has a lot of stress and headaches then you may consider aromatherapy massages. If you let the stress build up and don’t find a way to get rid of it you may end up getting other diseases like high blood pressure. <p>There are a number of people in this country that are forced to be on a low salt diet. This is mainly because we continue to eat things that are not good for us and then we complain. When we are diagnosed with high blood pressure or high cholesterol. So what do we do about it? The first thing that we should do is look at our family is there a history of high blood pressure or high cholesterol. If there is we need to be screened and willfully go on a low salt diet.</p>
<h2>Ditch The Salt Shaker</h2>
<p>We should then, take the salt shaker off the table and not use it to prepare foods either. This can be easier said than done because some foods just do not taste good if you eat them without salt. But if you are more worried about your health than your taste buds, then you can get used to eating without much salt. You have to train your taste buds to learn to like foods that do not have salt. You can do this by gradually cutting down on the salt until you have cut it out of your cooking. This is much easier than quitting salt cold turkey.<span id="more-209"></span></p>
<h2>Cooking Alternatives</h2>
<p>Instead of using salt when you cook you can test different herbs and spices. Cooking is like a science experiment you get to experiment with the different ingredients until you get it right. You should carefully read the labels and make sure that the foods that you buy are low in sodium. When you buy canned foods like vegetables you should rinse them in water to remove some of the salt. Marinating your meat will help it taste better but be sure that the marinate that you are using are low in sodium or salt free. Instead of buying things like chicken broth you should save chicken broth from things that you make. Chicken broth that you buy out of the store can be high in salt.</p>
<h2>Caution When Eating Out</h2>
<p>When you are dining out you should learn to read the menu things like smoked, and barbeque mean they are high in salt. You should never use eating out as an excuse to cheat because you don’t know what to eat when you go out. No matter where you go and who you go with if your heath is important you will stay on that diet.</p>
<p>As you can tell a low salt diet will take a lot of adjusting and will power. When you consider a lifetime of taking pills for blood pressure or high cholesterol then you will see the importance of taking it one day at a time. Don’t worry about tomorrow until it becomes today and take it one day at a time.  It is possible that you can have a low salt diet and still like the foods you are eating. With all the herbs and spices all you have to do is find the mixture that you like and will help you forget about salt.</p>

<p>The cabbage soup diet is often referred to as a fad diet, because it is a diet plan that is not meant for long term use. This diet requires that you cabbage soup every day which may get a bit tiring. This is why the cabbage soup diet is not meant for people that have a lot of weight to loose. It is recommended for people that need to loose about 10 pounds.</p>
<h2>The Seven Day Plan</h2>
<p>Day one of the cabbage soup diet requires that you eat cabbage soup and as much fruit as you want except bananas. As with all diets, water is the recommended beverage. By just eating cabbage and fruit and drinking water you are letting your body get rid of the fluids that is making your body fat.<span id="more-207"></span></p>
<p>On day 2 you can eat cabbage soup and you can have vegetables along with on potato and butter and you can still drink water. By adding more food you will begin to see your energy level increase.</p>
<p>On day 3 you can have cabbage soup, fruits and vegetables but you can not have potatoes or bananas. The more food you are allowed to eat the better your energy and metabolism will be. With more energy and metabolism you can begin to work exercise into your routine.</p>
<p>Day 4 lets you eat cabbage soup along with as much as eight bananas and skim milk.  Now you are adding the needed calcium to keep your bones strong and potassium.</p>
<p>Day 5 lets you eat cabbage soup, 6 tomatoes and up to 20 oz. of beef and</p>
<p>Day 6 lets you eat cabbage soup and as much vegetables and beef, as you would like except potatoes.</p>
<p>Day 7 lets you eat cabbage soup and vegetables except potatoes,  brown rice and juice that is not sweetened.</p>
<p>By the time you get through day 7 you will most likely hate cabbage soup. This is why the cabbage soup diet is not a diet that you will want to stick to for a long time.</p>
<p>Many people believe that the weight that is lost on the cabbage soup diet is because of the water and will not stay off when you stop with the diet. It is also believed that because the soup recipes are extremely bland, people will not stick to the diet very long.</p>
<p>If you are a person that likes soup and fruits and vegetables then you may want to try the cabbage soup diet. If you have a few pounds to lose and are not looking for a long term diet then the cabbage soup diet may be the one for you.
