Working with young people is a rewarding career – and we desperately need more qualified adults to take on the role of youth counseling these days. Kids need counseling for a variety of reasons. The salary range for youth counselors ranges widely, depending on a number of factors. The low end of the scale is just under $20,000 annually, and the high end of the scale is in the one hundred thousands per year. This depends on the children that you will work with, the company or organization that you work for, and the amount of education that you have obtained, among other factors.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Social Science with an Education concentration in July of this year. I have been a subsitute teacher in the Elementary field for almost four years. I am looking to get an online Masters degree in counseling. I want to specialize in youth counseling, maybe in a school setting, maybe in the public setting. I also would love to start my own business in counseling at some point. I am looking for what program may fit into this catagory. I know for sure I want to keep helping kids, as the youth of today is the leaders of tomorrow.
